The State of Our Community

A Muslim community that has forgotten itself and forgotten its noble past. This community is like a person who has lost their memory, and with it, their identity:

Deep down, it knows it belongs to something far greater... A past with values and principles infinitely greater than those it lives by in the present moment. Unfortunately, little remains of it but faint echoes…

Even if it sought to bring these distant memories back to life, it is swept up by the relentless waves and storms of daily life — how could it fight against this onslaught, having learned to rely only on its own strength?

So instinctively, it looks around but finds little support, other than other troubled souls far from concerned with tomorrow. So it resigns itself… It willingly accepts to live this way: a life full of illusions and discomfort rather than fighting the passions of its human soul. How could this body, now almost lifeless, come back to life? A seemingly simple answer: through a heart filled with love for Allah and His messenger ﷺ!

Let us beware! One might be tempted to love merely the idea of this love… A love without commitment, and often very superficial… What is meant here is true love… the kind that is made real and measured through actions in reality… A sacrificial love!

Our pious predecessors came from different lands and ethnicities; some were poor, others very wealthy; some had a very low social rank, others a very high one. Yet their lives are all bound together by one same thing. They made their love for their Lord real through a life of sacrifice for His cause.

So, immerse yourself in their lives and reflect on your own situation! Do not listen to your soul, which will certainly push you toward inaction! In the end, it was only through difficult choices that they became His companions ﷺ!
